Phone and email verification
Verifying the mobile phone and email of staff and courier accounts with a code; the "registered with another company" warning and foreign numbers.
In Courino, the phone and email of every staff and courier account are verified with a code. This shows that the account really belongs to that person, and no fake account can be opened with the same number or email. A phone number or email can be used by one company only (your branches are the same company).
How do I verify my details?
- Open Phone and email from the profile menu at the top right. If you need to verify, a yellow banner also appears at the top of the panel; its Verify now button opens the same page.
- On the Mobile phone row, press Verify, then Send code. A 6-digit code arrives on your phone by SMS.
- Type the code into the Verification code box and press Verify. The row shows Verified.
- Do the same on the Email row: the code arrives in your inbox.
- When both show Verified, the banner disappears.
- The code is valid for 10 minutes. You can request a new code after 60 seconds; the button shows the time left.
- The code box supports your phone's "fill code from SMS" suggestion.
- Verification codes are not billed to your company and do not count toward your monthly SMS limit.
- If the code is entered wrongly 5 times in a row, it is cancelled and you must wait 15 minutes.
When verification is mandatory
If verification has been made mandatory for your company, signing in with an account whose verification is missing opens the Verify your phone and email screen instead of the panel.
- Follow the steps on the screen and verify your phone (and your email, if you have one).
- When verification is complete, the panel opens by itself.
- From this screen you can only Sign out or delete your account with the Delete my account link.
Changing my number or email
- On the Phone and email page, press Change on the relevant row.
- Type the new number or email and press Continue.
- Send code sends a code to the new value; enter the code and press Verify.
- The new value is saved only when the code is verified. If no code is entered, the old value stays.
- On a staff account, changing the email also changes your sign-in email.
The "registered with another company" warning
The warning This number is registered with another company or This email is registered with another company means the value belongs to an account in another Courino company. For privacy, which company is not shown.
- Check that you typed the right number/email.
- If the person comes from another company (for example a courier who changed companies), their account at the old company must be closed, or the person must send a leave request with Leave company in the app and get it approved by the old company.
- If you want to open another province of the same company, do not open a new company; add a branch to the existing one. Details: Branches.
- If the number is on an old, unused account (no sign-in for a long time, not verified), the number moves to the new account when the person verifies the code.
- If the problem continues, write to us from the Support screen.
Courino console: who owns a number?
This section is for Courino platform administrators (console, Contact conflicts page). Companies are never told the name of the other company.
To find which company a phone number or email is registered with:
- Open the Contact conflicts page in the console. If an error box or a signup request shows a See who owns it link, click it; the value is filled in for you.
- Type the phone number or email in the Who owns this number / email? box. Any format works: 0530 320 06 47, +90 530 320 0647, 5303200647. Email is not case-sensitive.
- Click Search. The table shows the company holding the value (click it to open the company card), the record type (Staff account, Courier account, Courier card or Company details), the name, the status and the verification state.
- The Companies that cannot use this value list shows the companies that tried to enter the value and were blocked.
- If there is no result, This value is not registered with any company is shown.
- Every lookup is written to the console audit log (who, when, which value).
To free the number by deactivating the record that holds it (requires the console permission to manage companies, firms.manage):
- Talk to the company and make sure the number is really no longer used on that record.
- Click Deactivate on the result row.
- In the dialog, check the company name, the record name and the value. Read the this number will be freed notice.
- If the courier has open jobs, a yellow warning appears. The jobs stay with the courier; the company must hand them to another courier.
- Type a short Reason (at least 5 characters) and click Deactivate.
- The search refreshes. If no other record is left, The number is now free is shown; another company can now use the value.
- The record is not deleted: the courier card becomes Inactive, the account is disabled and its open sessions are closed. The company can re-enable the record later (if the number is not with another company by then).
- The company's only active owner cannot be deactivated; the row shows The company's only active owner; cannot be deactivated. The company needs another owner first.
- If a courier card and a courier account hold the same number, deactivate both.
- The action is written to the console audit log with its reason.
Foreign number
SMS codes are not sent to foreign (non-Turkish) numbers.
- On an account with a foreign number, email is required and verifying the email is enough.
To save your foreign number yourself:
- First verify your email on the Email row (the row must say Verified).
- On the Mobile phone row press Change, type the foreign number with its country code and press Continue.
- The number is saved without an SMS; the row says Foreign number. Your verified email is enough.
- If your email is not verified, the warning Verify your email before saving a foreign number appears; press Verify email.
- If you type a Turkish number, you move on to the SMS code step.
- If the foreign number is registered at another company, the warning This number is registered with another company appears; foreign numbers cannot be taken over.
- The company administrator can also enter a foreign number in Administration › Users (for a courier, on the courier card).
- Write the number with its country code (e.g. +49 151 2345678). Without a country code, it is treated as a Turkish number.
Staff and courier accounts
- When opening a New staff member, Mobile phone is required. At first sign-in the person verifies their number by SMS code from their own account.
- The courier verifies the Mobile phone on the courier card by SMS code in the mobile app.
- If an administrator changes a person's number or email, verification of that value is reset; the person verifies again. An administrator cannot mark a value as "verified".
- A courier can remove their own email in the app; a staff member's email cannot be removed because it is needed for sign-in.
- In Users and on the courier card, a Verified or Not verified badge appears next to the saved number and email. Lists show the same information with a small mark (hover to read it). If you change the value in the form, the badge disappears; after saving, the person verifies again.
- On the courier card the badge shows whether the courier verified the same number / email in their app account. Without an app account it says Not verified.
- Customer accounts are outside this verification.
Having trouble?
The code did not arrive:
- Check that the number or email is written correctly; where the code was sent is shown masked on the screen.
- SMS can be delayed a few minutes. After 60 seconds press Send a new code.
- If the email did not arrive, check your spam folder.
- If many codes were requested in a short time, a temporary limit applies (at most a few codes per hour and per day). Wait a while and try again.
- Contact details cannot be verified or changed in a platform support session; the account owner does this.
