Shift and status
How your shift opens and closes, location sharing on shift and changing your work status.
You only get jobs while your shift is open. Your company's dispatch opens and closes your shift, not you.
Is your shift open?
- If the top of My jobs shows something like On shift · Idle, you are on shift.
- If it shows Shift closed — tell dispatch, your shift is closed. Call dispatch when you start work.
- The Me tab also shows You're on shift or Shift closed.
Location sharing
- When your shift opens or a job is given to you, the app starts sending your location to dispatch.
- A persistent notification appears in the status bar: You're on shift or have jobs; your location is shared with dispatch. It goes away by itself when the shift ends and you have no jobs left.
- With no internet, locations are stored on the phone and sent when you are back online.
- When your shift is closed and you have no jobs, location sharing stops.
- If the Jobs screen shows the red Your location can't be sent warning, location permission or GPS is off: tap Settings and turn on permission (While using the app or Always) and GPS.
Changing your status
- Open the Me tab.
- Under My status, tap your status: Waiting, Breakdown, Accident or Idle.
| Status | When |
|---|---|
| Moving | Set automatically while you have a job. |
| Idle | Set automatically when your last job is done. |
| Waiting | When you are waiting somewhere. |
| Breakdown / Accident | Vehicle breakdown or accident. You get no new jobs. |
| Overtime | Only dispatch sets it. |
| Off duty | Set when dispatch closes your shift. |
Good to know
- You get no jobs while your shift is closed.
- You cannot choose Idle while you still have a job.

Having trouble?
- Shift closed but I'm working: Call dispatch to open your shift.
- No persistent notification: You may not have given location permission. Allow location for Courino in phone settings; see Getting started.
- Status won't change: Check your internet; see Working offline.
