Leave-company requests
Viewing, approving and rejecting the leave-company requests couriers send from the app, and what approval does.
When a courier wants to move to another company or stop working with you, they send a leave-company request from the Courino app. This is not a time-off request; time off is on the Leaves page. Until you approve, the courier keeps working for you.
Viewing requests
- In the left menu, under Couriers, open Leave-company requests. The yellow number in the menu is the count of requests awaiting approval.
- When a new request arrives, a New leave-company request alert appears at the bottom left of the panel; click Review request to go to the list. You are also notified by email and by a push notification on your phone in the Courino app. You can stop the push by turning off the Courier resignation request type in the app's Notification settings.
- The list shows the courier, the reason they wrote, the request date and the status.
- Use Status to filter Awaiting approval, Approved, Rejected or Withdrawn requests.
If you don't respond
- If a request is unanswered for 1 hour, a first reminder email is sent; after 2 hours, a second one.
- If you neither approve nor reject within 3 hours, the request is approved automatically. The courier gets an "approved automatically" notification and you get an "[Auto-approved]" email. In the list the decider is empty and the note says the company did not respond within 3 hours.
- If the courier has undelivered jobs, automatic approval waits; once the jobs are delivered, the request is approved.
- A courier cannot send a request while they have open jobs; the app tells them to deliver their jobs first.
If you do not want the request, click Reject and write your reason before the 3 hours are up.
Approving
- Click Approve on the request's row.
- Read the courier's details and reason in the window that opens.
- Read the warnings: Open jobs: If the courier has undelivered jobs, a red warning appears and the Approve button is disabled. First reassign these jobs to another courier or have them completed. On shift: The courier is currently on shift. Cash: The courier is holding cash; remember to collect it. Unpaid earnings: The courier has unpaid earnings. Advance exceeding earnings: The courier took more advance than they earned; this is owed by the courier.
- Optionally write a Note; it is sent to the courier.
- Click Approve.
Warnings other than open jobs do not block approval; they are for your information. Settle cash, earnings and advances with the courier before or after approval.
What does approval do?
- The courier record becomes inactive and appears among inactive couriers in the courier list.
- The courier's sign-in account is closed, their app session ends and notifications stop.
- The courier's mobile number is released: the courier can sign up with that number through another company's invite.
- History is kept: the courier's jobs, earnings, cash and advance movements stay in your records.
- The courier is notified of your decision.
Rejecting
- Click Reject on the request's row.
- Write why you are rejecting in the Reason field. The reason is required; the Reject button stays disabled until you write one.
- Click Reject. The reason is sent to the courier as a notification.
A rejected courier can send a new request once the issues are resolved. The courier can also withdraw a pending request before you decide; the status then becomes Withdrawn.
Having trouble?
- The request was approved on its own: No response was given within 3 hours. If the courier will keep working with you, invite them again with Invite courier.
- The Approve button is disabled: The courier has open jobs. Reassign or complete them, then open the window again.
- This page is not in the menu: It is shown to people with courier management permission (owner, manager, courier manager).
- I cannot see the request but the courier says they sent it: Branch managers see only their own branch's couriers. Also set the Status filter to All statuses.
- The courier wanted time off: Time-off requests do not come here; see the Leaves page.
