Operations screen
Assigning pool jobs to couriers, tracking courier jobs, orders awaiting approval, courier workload and the courier map.
The Operations screen is the panel's home page. It shows jobs waiting for a courier, couriers on shift and their jobs in one place. The screen updates live; you don't need to refresh.
What's on the screen?
- Awaiting approval: orders from partners waiting for your approval. Appears only when there is such an order.
- Pool: jobs waiting for a courier. The job to be picked up earliest is at the top. The Pending column shows how long the order has been open, and Route shows the pickup and delivery points.
- Courier map: the last reported positions of couriers. The dot colour shows the courier's status; hover to see the name, code, status and time of the position. Positions older than 15 minutes are drawn faded grey. Couriers on shift or with jobs whose position is not coming in are listed in a yellow warning above the map.
- Couriers on shift: couriers whose shift is open, their status (Idle, Moving, Waiting, Breakdown, Accident, Overtime, Off duty) and their jobs.
The bar under each courier shows that courier's share of all active jobs: up to 25% green, up to 50% blue, up to 75% orange, above that red.
Assigning a job
- In the Pool, press the scooter icon (Assign to courier) on the job's row.
- Choose a courier on shift from the list and press Assign.
- The job moves under the courier with the status With courier and appears in the courier's app.
Tracking and managing jobs
With the buttons next to a courier's job you can:
- move the job to someone else with Assign to another courier, or put it back with Return to pool;
- mark the package as collected with Picked up;
- record delivery with Deliver by entering Received by and optionally Company (optional). For round trips, use First leg delivered first;
- cancel the job with Cancel, entering a Cancellation reason.
For an order awaiting approval, Approve moves it to the pool; Reject requires a reason, which is sent to the partner.
To enter a new job, press New order at the top right. Details: Creating an order.
Tip: Buttons are shown as icons; hover over them to see what they do. Press an order number to open the order details.
Good to know
- The screen has no separate filters. If you have several branches, use the branch selector in the top bar to see a single branch's jobs.
- Look up past and delivered jobs on the Orders page.
Having trouble?
- No assignment buttons: Your role has no permission to manage orders (for example, accounting).
- A courier is missing from the list: The courier's shift is not open.
- No couriers on the map: The courier app sends its position only while the shift is open or the courier has jobs. If you work without opening shifts, positions start coming in once you give the courier a job.
- Courier in the "no location" list: Location permission or GPS is off on the courier's phone, or the app is old. The courier app shows a red warning; the courier should turn permission on with the Settings button and update the app.
