Adding customers
Creating a new customer record in the panel, required fields, and customers signing up on their own with your company code.
Customers are the people or companies you take orders from and price for. You can add a customer from the panel yourself, or let customers sign up on their own through the portal.
Step by step
- Open Customers from the left menu and click New customer.
- Enter the customer's name in Name / company name. Customer code is optional; if you enter one, it must not be used by another customer.
- Choose a Customer type, Price list and District. Order prices are calculated from these choices.
- Fill in Address, Mobile phone, Landline and Email.
- If you will invoice the customer, make the Individual / company choice. For an Individual, the Turkish ID number is optional (if blank, the invoice is issued without an ID number). For Company → Sole proprietorship, the owner's Turkish ID number (11 digits) and Tax office are required; for Limited / Joint-stock / Other, Tax ID (VKN) (10 digits) and Tax office are required. If you choose nothing, the old Tax ID / National ID field is shown; the customer can also make this choice on the portal's My details page.
- Use the SMS notification and Email notification boxes to decide whether the customer gets order notifications. You can tick VIP for important customers.
- Click Save. The customer card opens; you can add contacts and a login account from there.
Good to know
- Name / company name, Customer type, Price list and District are required. Customers imported from the old system may have these empty; you can still open the card, but you must fill them in to save.
- A mobile phone number can belong to only one active customer record at a time, and this rule also covers other courier companies.
- If Orders require approval (partner) is ticked, this customer's orders wait for approval.
- Export to Excel on the Customers page also includes inactive customers.
Customers signing up on their own
Your customers can sign up in the portal with your company code. You decide whether this is allowed in the Customer sign-up field on the Settings › Website tab. The Share with your customers box in the same place shows the sign-up address and your company code; send these to your customers. See Customer sign-up approval for details.
Having trouble?
- I can't see the New customer button: You don't have permission to manage customers. Ask your company administrator.
- An error says the customer code is already in use: Enter a different code or leave the field empty.
- An error says the mobile phone is active in another customer record: The number is registered in another customer record, possibly at another courier company. That record must be made inactive first. The customer can do this in the portal with Leave company.
