Customer sign-up approval
Approving or rejecting customers who sign up in the portal with your company code, and choosing the sign-up mode.
Your customers can sign up in the portal with your company code. You decide whether these sign-ups need your approval.
Choosing the sign-up mode
- Open the Settings › Website tab.
- In the Customer sign-up field, choose one of the options in the table below.
- Click Save.
- Send the sign-up address and company code shown in the Share with your customers box to your customers.
| Option | What happens |
|---|---|
| On — I'll approve sign-ups (default) | New sign-ups arrive as "awaiting approval". The customer cannot place orders until you approve. |
| On — accept without approval (can order immediately) | The sign-up becomes active right away. |
| Off — only I add customers | The sign-up page tells the customer that the company is not accepting sign-ups right now. |
Approving sign-ups
- Open the Customers page. If there are sign-ups waiting, an Awaiting approval button with their count appears in the header. Click it, or pick the waiting customers in the Status filter.
- Check the customer's name and phone in the list. Click the name to open the card for details.
- Click Approve. The customer becomes active and can place orders.
- To turn the sign-up down, click Reject and confirm with Reject again in the dialog.
Good to know
- A customer who signs up gets a customer type and price list automatically. They come from the Customer type for prices and Price list fields on the Settings › Website tab; if nothing is chosen there, the first active type and list are used. You can change them on the customer card before or after approval.
- The customer creates their own login account while signing up; you don't need to open one.
- A rejected sign-up becomes inactive and its login accounts are closed. The mobile phone is freed, so the customer can sign up with another courier company using that number.
- On the card of a customer awaiting approval, the Active box is replaced by "Awaiting approval — approve it in the Customers list". Approval is done only from the list.
Having trouble?
- A customer says they can't sign up: Customer sign-up may be off. Or the mobile phone may be in an active record at another courier company.
- Sign-up says the company hasn't finished its pricing: Define at least one active customer type and price list.
- I can't see the Approve button: You don't have permission to manage customers.
